Another December Update

Published December 22, 2015

A big thank you to all of the people who have volunteered to help Ali with his medical appointments. This is excellent!

We still need to find 2-3 people who would like to take on household set-up, when the time comes, for Honada's family. This will be a short, but fairly intense job, with loads of satisfaction :)

Several people have volunteered interpreters for both Ali and Honada's family. I need to start gathering contact information for these very important volunteers. We will hire professional interpreters for any official appointments they have, but to keep our costs down, we do need to find volunteers who can help the family during their set-up, during doctor's appointments, etc. For arrival at the airport, I have Sawsan, who has volunteered for Honada's family and Gulnar has a volunteer who will come for Ali.
For everyone who knows of volunteer interpreters, in Swahili/Somali for Ali and in Arabic for Honada's family, could you please ask that person or people to contact me at smuirslp@gmail.com and let me know what they are interested in doing/ how much they would like to be involved. All help is welcome and we know that people's time is very valuable. I will assemble a list of these people so that they can be contacted when we are ready for them.

Merry Christmas Everyone!
